Terry L. Hawk (Vice-Chairman)

There is no place like home. That's a valid statement normally uttered when returning from a long tiring trip. There is comfort derived from familiarity. We become accustomed to our surroundings, our achievements, and our way of life. And upon returning from those occasional out of town excursions, we are reminded of our good fortune to live in Warren County. We live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

During my life, I've had occasions to see some of this nation of ours and a little outside. During my Air Force days, I was fortunate to be stationed in England for three years. I was able to tour England, Wales, and Scotland. I viewed the London Bridge before it was moved to Lake Havasu, Arizona. I visited castles to numerous to mention. And yes, I peered across Lake Inverness looking for 'Nessy'!

Warren County possesses its own attractions. They consist of the vast areas of forestland, second growth timber regenerated from a massive cut a century ago. They consist of pristine streams and rivers along with the Kinzua dam and reservoir. these attractions include a variety of styles of architecture incorporated into the historic buildings. Along with these attributes are all the amenities and necessities without sacrificing quality of life values.

But the real 'crown jewels' are the citizens of Warren County. They are a diversified devoted workforce with a very high standard of work ethics. Despite job losses and gains over the years, they have faced the challenges of change and overcame them. there is no shortage of participants and volunteers for any endeavor. Neighbors still talk and help one another and it's easy to find a friendly smile.

I am very much looking forward to serving the citizens of Warren County.
