The essential functions of the Warren County Recreation Director include, but are not limited to the following responsibilities:
To develop, maintain, and promote the Warren County Bike Hike Trail. Also, to coordinate efforts to maintain snowmobile, hiking, ATV, equestrian, and other recreational trails on non-County owned lands in conjuction with volunteers and other state and federal agencies. Responsibilities include coordinating events such as the annual Winterfest or any other program that the Commissioners may designate. These events attract visitors to Warren County. The Northern Alleghenies Vacation Region and other organizations work collaboratively with the Recreation Director to promote activities for potential visitors.
The Recreation Director enhances these opportunities in Warren County through the development of high quality recreational assets, coordination of selected events, and service as a technical resource to community organizations and local governments involved in compatible activities. It is, also, the responsibility of this director to supervise the summer playground staff.
